I have also started to do a bit of artwork for LinuxMint. LinuxMint is quite a decent distro and has quite a good community spirit. I highly recommend this for new linux users. It is based on Ubuntu but has extra goodies like codecs, DVD playing, flash and java installed right out of the box. They manage this because it is based in a country that doesn't bend over for the corporate patent nazis.
